Polar is proud to partner with schools, universities and associations in offering a variety of workshop formats, ranging from hourly classroom sesions to multiple day events. Each of these workshops provide varying levels of direct instruction on Polar technology including E Series heart rate monitors, TriFIT, Companion, PE Manager and Wellness Center. All participants experience a high quality learning environment with the opportunity to share their situations while learning from peers.

Naperville Central High School

Renowned nationwide for its innovative New PE program and its state-of-the-art, health club like facilities, Naperville Central High School is hosting its annual Physical Education Tech Camp. Join the hundreds of physical educators who have already attended this popular workshop to learn about the latest fitness technology designed for PE.

Find out how this technology can help you objectively assess, monitor and document student progress, while enabling you to easily illustrate your program's results to prevent budget cuts, prepare for parent-teacher night and fulfill the reporting provisions required by many grants, including PEP.

All participants will receive continuing education credits and for an additional fee, graduate credit will be offered.

EDR 5530 (1 graduate credit hour or 8 CEU’s)

This course explains the benefits of using technology, such as heart rate monitors, fitness assessment systems and hand-held computers in physical education to objectively assess each student. Participants will discover how technology can provide them with the visual evidence to educate students, administrators and parents on the importance of living a healthy, physically active lifestyle. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn about the New PE and put your program on the cutting-edge. Participants will also receive a Polar resource cd and software demo cd.

Students will:

  • Learn the benefits of using technology in physical education
  • Explore the types of Polar physical education technology
  • Learn on a beginning level the basic usage of each piece of Polar technology and software

Part II 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

This course is a hands-on application of technology, such as heart rate monitors, fitness assessment systems and hand-held computers in physical education to objectively assess each student. Participants will discover through practice how technology can provide them with the visual evidence to educate students, administrators and parents on the importance of living a healthy, physically active lifestyle. Participants will receive a Polar resource cd and software demo cd.

Students will:

  • Review the benefits of using technology in physical education
  • Explore the types of Polar physical education technology
  • Learn and practice how to use each piece of Polar technology and software
  • Learn and practice how to incorporate Polar technology into the physical education curriculum
  • Learn how to get funding for technology

Cost: $98 per class for 1 hour graduate credit, or $50 per class for 8 CEU’s only. Additional $25 fee for materials per class. See registration form for details.
