Polar previewed the all-new, revolutionary CS500 cycling computer for attendees of the Eurobike and Interbike international bicycle trade shows this September. What makes this cycling computer so revolutionary is its highly-functional design coupled with state-of-the-art Polar heart rate monitoring technology. The CS500 offers innovative rocker switch operation, an oversized display, and new bike mount. Together these features help demanding cyclists stay fully in control of their performance while training.

The CS500 two-way rocker switch makes it easier to navigate through training data, allowing effortless control even at high speeds. The rider can quickly and safely operate their cycling computer by gently touching the left or right side of the handlebar unit. Cyclists will also appreciate the oversized display which offers more data on the screen and clearer visibility of training information under most conditions. The new Dual Lock Bike Mount with engineered metal parts gives sturdy attachment for the cycling computer, while the reliable 2.4 GHz W.I.N.D. technology provides virtually disturbance-free data communication.

With the CS500, cyclists get more out of their training by combining body information and cycling data from compatible cycling sensors. The CS500 can measure speed, distance, cadence, and temperature. It also displays current altitude, ascended/descended meters, and hill steepness. After the ride, cyclists can log in to their online training diary at polarpersonaltrainer.com. This advanced web service has been developed to answer the demands of cycling enthusiasts, allowing them to transfer their training files via the new DataLink data transfer unit.

The CS500 weighs only 50 grams, and comes with the CS speed sensor W.I.N.D. and Dual Lock Bike Mount.  It is also available with the CS cadence sensor W.I.N.D. as well.  Suggested retail prices for these sets are $319.95 and $359.95, respectively. The CS500 will be available on spring 2010. Stay tuned for more details.
