Aaron Reed
Growing up, I was not athletic and I had terrible eating habits. By my mid-thirties things started going south, really quick!
As a pastor and father of five, I knew that things needed to change, so my wife and I started walking together while pushing three children in strollers!
Soon walking turned to light running, and soon thereafter, running became more serious, and by 2008 I was hooked!
I set my sights on a marathon, but I knew that I needed a training tool. So I purchased a Polar RS200 model with footpod and I used that device to train every time I ran.
In September, 2008 I completed the United States Air Force Marathon, in Dayton, Ohio in 4:22:39! Since then, I have ran three additional half-marathons and in May, 2011 I ran 42.4 miles of a 50 mile trail ultrarun. I was not able to finish, but I credit staying on track to my polar running computer.
From couch potato to marathoner (and ultra-marathoner), who would have guessed it? And it was possible, in large part, because of my Polar RS200 running computer.
By the way, I used my Polar so much that the band broke and I had to wire it together with bread ties!
So, yes, I need a new Polar Computer to train because my wife will be running her first full marathon with me in the Fall of 2012! Thanks, Polar!
