Josef Stave

After my first year of road riding, I decided to buy a polar heart rate monitor, which taught me about perceived exertion and actual fitness relating to my heart rate. After a few years of riding I bought a new polar computer with cadence, which helped me learn to pace myself, keeping up rpms, but lowering my heart rate. As a result, I no longer blow myself up in pace lines, carry too hard of a gear on climbing, or pretend that my pace is as good as I had thought. I am an analyst by trade, so I love looking at data, which has helped my training program. This year I completed three centuries, numerous long group rides, and began training for criteriums. I even did Levi's fondo in Santa Rosa. I hope to race for the first time next year. Thank you polar!
