I am a 66 year old man who had let myself get out of shape over the last 5 years. I went back to the gym with an achievable set of goals and time table. I started out slowly with some stretching warm ups, 1 mile cardio and light weights and machines. In 7 months I lost 35 pounds, four plus inches off my waste and now do 4 miles at a ten minute pace 3 to 4 times a week. I have increased my weight and machine reps as well as increased the weight by 40%. One of the reasons I was successful besides my own determination is that I have the Polar heart monitor watch which has allowed me to maintain my heart rate in the correct zone for weight loss, cardio fitness. I even know when I'm not working hard enough on the floor with weights and machines. The polar has provided me with important feed back as to how my body is responding as well as timing rest periods and the timing of certain parts of my workout. It helps me stay focused and mot! ivated since I can visually see my effort. I am very proud of my results and continue to work on building a healthier body and never exercise without my Polar.
