Richard A. Weaver

I was a long time runner, competing in college in division 3 X-country and track events, doing marathones, etc. I continued running, at times 100 miles per week. In my 40's I developed knee pain while running, and eventually had to have arthroscopy. I thought my running days were over, and stopped. 5 years later, I read the book "Born to Run". I started researching forefoot running, and decided to try. After a slow converstion, I am back to running 5 miles w/ a minimalistic shoe. I have my Polar RS800CX watch w/ cadence sensor and GPS to guide my progress. Amazingly(to me) despite being off for so long, I was able to achieve excellent mile times immediately (7-8 min miles) w/ forefoot running. My Polar watch has allowed me to track such indices, and allowed me to gradually reintroduce myself to the sport I LOVE.
